Haryana Government Urged to Crack Down on Crime Gangs Targeting Entertainment Professionals

In a formal communique, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) called on Haryana’s chief minister to launch an aggressive crackdown on the crime syndicates that have been terrorising the state’s artistic community. The letter referenced the September 17 gunfire incident aimed at Dilair Kharkia, a popular Haryanvi performer, as part of a series of assaults that also include an attack on Punjabi singer Gulab Sidhu and the fatal shooting of Ankit Balyan. AICWA argued that these gangs thrive on fear, demanding hefty ransoms, and that the situation now threatens the livelihood of actors, singers, and technicians. The association asked for an immediate investigative team, speedy arrests, and a dedicated security apparatus for the film and music sectors.
