Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, and Riteish Deshmukh star in the crime-comedy film, Housefull 5, which is emerging as a success. The film’s unique strategy involves releasing two versions with different endings. The story unfolds on a luxurious cruise ship where a billionaire meets an untimely demise. On its fifth day in theaters, Housefull 5 earned an estimated ₹10.75 crore, according to early estimates. The film has now accumulated ₹111.25 crore in the domestic box office within the first five days of its release.
Housefull 5 experienced a strong opening weekend, collecting ₹24 crore on its first day. The movie saw a significant increase of 29.17% on day two, earning ₹31 crore, and a further rise on day three with ₹32.5 crore, marking a 4.84% growth. However, the momentum dipped significantly on Day 4, with collections dropping to ₹13 crore, a 60% decline.
The movie’s plot involves mysterious murders on a ship, with Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff playing investigating police officers. Two versions of the film offer different reveals of the murderer. In version ‘A’, Abhishek Bachchan and Fardeen Khan are unveiled as the killers. In the second version, Chitrangda Singh and Abhishek Bachchan are revealed as the culprits. Additionally, the characters claiming to be Jolly are revealed to be imposters, and Bobby Deol makes a cameo appearance as the real Jolly. The ensemble cast includes Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Dino Morea, Chunky Pandey, and Johnny Lever. Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangada Singh, Sonam Bajwa, and Soundarya Sharma are the leading ladies.
