Actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh entered the International Emmy Awards with his first nomination in the Best Actor category. He was nominated for portraying the Punjabi actor Amar Singh Chamkila in Imtiaz Ali’s biopic “Amar Singh Chamkila.” He expressed his gratitude on Instagram, stating, “This is all because of Imtiaz Ali sir.” The director also praised Diljit’s performance.
Comedian-actor Vir Das created history in 2023 by winning the Emmy Award for Best Comedy Special for Vir Das: Landing. This achievement was a major step for Indian stand-up at a global level.
