Jitendra Kumar Remembers School Play that Led to a Film Role

Jitendra Kumar reflected on his earliest acting experience – playing the character Tadaka in a school‑level Ramayana drama. He admitted that at the time he never imagined the stage could become a career. After finishing school, his focus shifted entirely to academics, leading him to qualify for the IIT entrance test and enroll at IIT Kharagpur. The campus environment, dominated by English, made him feel behind, prompting him to explore theatre as a form of expression. Frequent participation in contests revealed a hidden talent, and acting gradually emerged as a professional pursuit. This journey eventually brought him to the silver screen, where he portrayed Babul Pandit in the cinematic adaptation of the well‑known series ‘Mirzapur’.
