Kailash Expedition Marks Spiritual Milestone for Mansi Parekh
Bollywood actress Mansi Parekh celebrated the completion of her Kailash pilgrimage, describing the trek as a life‑long memory she will cherish forever. In a recent social media post, she displayed footage of her walking 20 kilometres at high altitude, braving rain, and finally riding a horse for the last kilometre alongside her Sherpa.
She revealed that she got up at 5 a.m. without an alarm, driven by sheer excitement despite the chilly conditions. Parekh stressed the importance of applying castor oil to the nose to prevent bleeding at altitude and relying on abundant sunscreen because makeup does not survive the mountain climate. A substantial breakfast was packed to provide the energy needed for both climbing and carrying a heavy backpack.
Starting the journey from Yamunotri, Parekh explained that the point symbolizes shedding all worries and moving toward a renewed spiritual self. She highlighted that the current Tibetan Year of the Horse assigns a special significance to the pilgrimage, equating a single trek with thirteen traditional journeys. The increasing beauty of the landscape, especially the view of Kailash’s eastern rim, gave her a profound sense of peace and purpose.
