Vishnu Manchu’s highly anticipated film, ‘Kannappa,’ has premiered in theaters. The mythological fantasy film has generated significant excitement among audiences. Addressing an event before the film’s release, Vishnu Manchu discussed plans for its digital release, confirming that ‘Kannappa’ will not be available on any OTT platform for ten weeks. The team aims for viewers to experience the film in theaters without immediate pressure to stream it online. The film’s OTT rights have yet to be sold.
Adding to the film’s significance, the Andhra Pradesh government has approved a ₹50 increase in ticket prices for ‘Kannappa’ screenings, indicating its anticipated impact. The film stars Vishnu Manchu in the lead role of Kannappa, a devoted follower of Lord Shiva, and features a supporting cast including Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, and Madhoo. Furthermore, the movie boasts special appearances by prominent Indian stars, including Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva, Mohanlal as Kirata, Prabhas as Rudra, and Kajal Aggarwal as Goddess Parvati. ‘Kannappa’ has been released in five languages: Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. Initial reviews from early screenings describe the film as visually stunning and emotionally resonant, emphasizing its themes of devotion.
