Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ has made a strong entry in 2025. After a two-year wait, the film is gaining momentum. The sequel is benefiting from the popularity of the first part, evident in its opening day performance. While the collection saw a slight dip, the film is expected to surpass the earnings of several big movies by the end of its first weekend. Fans are eager for the cinematic journey and story, and there’s anticipation whether it will become the first 1000-crore film of 2025. In just two days, the film has made a significant impact globally. In India, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ started with a bang, earning 60 crore rupees on its opening day, with a strong performance in Hindi-speaking regions. The film’s net collection in India has reached 106.85 crore rupees in two days, with a gross collection of 128.25 crore rupees. It’s projected to reach around 200 crore rupees in India by the weekend. It has become the biggest Kannada film of 2025, surpassing ‘S u From So’s’ 92 crore collection. Worldwide, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ has performed impressively. The film earned 13 crore rupees overseas on its first day, and approximately 10 crore rupees on the second day, accumulating around 23-24 crore rupees overseas. The worldwide collection has reached 151 crore rupees in two days. ‘Kantara’ has overtaken Akshay Kumar’s films ‘Kesari Chapter 2’ (144 crore rupees) and ‘Sky Force’ (150 crore rupees) within two days. Now, it sets its sights on challenging the collections of Salman Khan’s ‘Sikandar’ and Ram Charan’s ‘Game Changer’, which earned 180-190 crore rupees.
