In fact, Nitish’s wife and IAS officer Smita Bhardwaj had filed a petition in the MP High Court regarding passport renewal of two twin minor daughters. Being the guardian, IAS officer Smita Bhardwaj, mother of the minor daughters, had filed a petition in the High Court. During the hearing of the case, the High Court commented – Father’s consent is not mandatory in passport renewal. On January 16, the passports of both the daughters of Nitish Bhardwaj are expiring. The mother had filed a petition for passport renewal for both the daughters to attend the book launch ceremony to be held at Oxford University, England. Mahabharata fame Nitish Bhardwaj had objected citing a family dispute case going on in Mumbai court.
