Following the recent passing of his father, veteran actor Pankaj Dheer, Nikitin Dheer has shared a deeply emotional and cryptic message on social media. Pankaj Dheer, known for his roles in iconic productions, passed away on October 15 after a protracted battle with cancer. His death has left a significant void in the industry and in the hearts of his loved ones.
Nikitin, who himself is a recognized actor, posted an image on his Instagram stories featuring the feet of Goddess Kali. Accompanying the visual was a poignant message: “At her feet, I left my name, my pride, my pain, and she called me her own.” This sentiment appears to articulate his profound grief and the overwhelming emotional process he is currently navigating. The post offers a glimpse into the actor’s internal struggle as he copes with the loss of his father.
The passing of Pankaj Dheer was confirmed by CINTAA (Cine & TV Artistes’ Association), who released a statement expressing deep sorrow. Pankaj Dheer had a distinguished career spanning both film and television, with notable appearances in ‘Sanam Bewafa’, ‘Baadshah’, ‘Chandrakanta’, and ‘Sasural Simar Ka’. He also ventured into direction with ‘My Father Godfather’ and dedicated time to nurturing new talent through his Abhinay Acting Academy.
Earlier, Nikitin had also shared a message about acceptance and letting go, seemingly in preparation for the inevitable. This earlier post read: “Whatever comes, Let it come. Whatever stays, Let it stay. Whatever goes, Let it go. As a Shiva Bhakt, say ‘Shivarpanam’ and move on! He’ll take care!” – very hard to do.” This reflects a philosophical approach to life’s challenges.
A prayer meet was held for Pankaj Dheer on October 17, attended by several prominent figures from the film industry, including Suresh Oberoi and Esha Deol. Nikitin was seen with his wife, Kratika Sengar, at the gathering. The veteran actor’s prolonged illness, including a relapse of cancer and subsequent surgery, ultimately led to his passing.
