The 2025 box office scene has been highly competitive, with several low-budget films making a significant impact despite no film yet reaching the 1000-crore mark. Many movies have enjoyed extended theatrical runs, lasting over a month. This has influenced the performance of subsequent releases. Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Param Sundari’ is one such film. It faces competition from established films like ‘Kuli’ and ‘War 2’, as well as older releases like ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ and ‘Sayyara’. On its opening day, ‘Param Sundari’ collected ₹7.25 crore in India, with a gross collection of ₹8.70 crore. Worldwide, the film earned ₹10 crore on its opening day, with an overseas collection of ₹1.30 crore. While the film didn’t quite meet initial expectations of ₹12-13 crore worldwide, it still managed to surpass some of its competitors. The film’s budget is estimated to be around ₹40 crore, and the weekend presents an opportunity to recoup costs.
‘Param Sundari’ has outperformed films like Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Bhool Chook Maaf’, which collected ₹8.4 crore on its opening day, and Arjun Kapoor’s ‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi’, which earned only ₹1.8 crore. The film’s performance is also affected by the ongoing success of Rajinikanth’s ‘Kuli’ and Hrithik Roshan’s ‘War 2’.
