The highly anticipated film starring Prabhas, with a reported budget of ₹400 crores, is facing potential delays. Initial plans aimed for an earlier release, but the date was pushed to December. Now, there are reports suggesting a further postponement to next year. This situation has created complications for the film’s co-producers. A recent report in The Economic Times highlights a petition filed by Delhi-based Ivy Entertainment against the co-producer, People Media Factory Private Limited, alleging serious breaches of agreement. Ivy Entertainment claims that People Media Factory failed to fulfill commitments, including timely completion and release, providing monthly production updates, and detailing fund usage. The company is seeking the return of ₹218 crore, plus 18% annual interest. Ivy Entertainment entered into a film rights acquisition agreement with People Media Factory on January 25, 2023, and a theatrical rights acquisition agreement on March 10, 2023, acquiring worldwide and non-theatrical rights. The petition names PMF directors Viswa Prasad Tumbalam Gooty and Subrahmanyam Vivekananda Kuchibhotla, as well as post-production vendors such as Deccan Dreams Animation LLP, Prasad Xtreme Digital Cinema Network, Cube Cinema Technologies, and UFO Movies. Concerns exist that the legal dispute may impact the film’s release or lead to compromises in quality.
