Priya Kapur has filed an application with the Delhi High Court requesting modifications to the court’s directive to disclose the assets of the late Sunjay Kapur. She proposes that the asset information be kept in a sealed cover and that Karisma Kapoor’s children be required to sign a non-disclosure statement due to the sensitive nature of the information. The court, however, has initially expressed the view that there is nothing confidential in such matters and that such a direction could prejudice the defense. Saurav Agarwal, the lawyer representing Karisma Kapoor’s children, has pointed out that the effort to maintain confidentiality appears aimed at avoiding scrutiny of the assets, particularly given that bank accounts have already been depleted. Probate matters are considered proceedings in rem, and the public’s awareness of assets is crucial to prevent dealings with them. The court is scheduled to rule on the confidentiality of this information in a partition matter.
