The source clarified that while Chopra did perform a special number in Bhansali’s ‘Ram Leela,’ it was a last-minute favor. Aishwarya Rai was originally slated for the role but withdrew, prompting Chopra to step in. The agreement included a promise that Chopra would be cast as the lead in Bhansali’s subsequent project, a commitment allegedly not honored, leading to a rift between the two.
