Veteran actor R Madhavan has candidly shared his struggles with anxiety while working on film sets. The seasoned performer, known for his versatile roles, admitted to experiencing growing fear with each new project. Madhavan revealed in a recent interview that he often worries about his abilities, fearing that onlookers, even his assistants, might perceive him as having lost his acting touch.
‘Nowadays, whenever I go on set, I feel a lot more scared than before,’ Madhavan explained. ‘On the first day when you reach the set, it feels like everyone is looking at me and saying, ‘It’s over, Maddy is finished,’ ‘Now he doesn’t know how to act.’ It’s getting worse with every film.’ He expressed a deep-seated concern that his team might be thinking, ‘It’s time to work with someone else now, he doesn’t know anything.’ This pervasive fear, he noted, intensifies with every movie he undertakes.
Despite his illustrious career, which includes hits like ‘3 Idiots,’ ‘Shaitaan,’ and ‘Vikram Vedha,’ Madhavan’s vulnerability highlights the mental pressures actors face. He is currently gearing up for upcoming projects such as Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar’ and the Netflix series ‘Legacy,’ demonstrating his continued commitment to his craft despite his internal battles.
