Raveena Says No Actress Matches Govinda’s Chemistry Except Karisma

Mumbai, September 16 – In a heartfelt interview on India’s Best Dancer Season 5, veteran actress Raveena Tandon opened up about her long‑standing friendship and professional bond with Govinda.

Tandon recounted how several joint projects were signed in the past but failed to move beyond the scripting stage. “Opportunities kept coming, yet the films never launched,” she explained to host Harsh Limbachia.

The breakthrough arrived when Govinda visited Kolkata for the inauguration of a new store. He urged Tandon to team up for a movie, prompting the pair to perform a quick prayer at the Kali Mata temple early in the morning. The very next day, production began on the comedy “Dulhe Raja,” which later delighted viewers with its witty dialogue and energetic dance numbers.

Reflecting on the partnership, Tandon asserted that, apart from Karisma Kapoor, no other actress could create such an electrifying duo with Govinda. She added that she learned much of Govinda’s comedic timing directly from him.

A memorable moment from the set involved a playful competition during the filming of the track “Ladka Deewana Lage.” Both actors kept challenging each other to deliver the best dance shot, resulting in spontaneous laughter that made the final sequence sparkle.
