The Tamil film industry mourns the loss of actor and comedian Robo Shankar, who passed away at the age of 46 in Chennai on Thursday. He was admitted to GEM Hospital with severe gastrointestinal bleeding and multiple organ failure. Shankar, known for his comedic roles, worked with prominent actors like Dhanush and Thalapathy Vijay. The hospital stated that he was admitted on September 16, 2025, in critical condition, and passed away on September 18 at 9:05 PM. Following the announcement of his death, tributes and condolences flooded in from across the film industry. Notable figures such as Kamal Haasan expressed their grief. Radikaa Sarathkumar also shared her condolences on social media. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin also offered his sympathies. Shankar’s career spanned films, television, and stage performances, bringing joy to audiences across Tamil Nadu. He was also known for his appearances on television shows like ‘Kings of Comedy Juniors’ and his role in Dhanush’s ‘Maari’.
