Salman Khan has starred in several successful films alongside Madhuri Dixit, with their on-screen pairings generating significant box office success. Their collaborations were immensely popular in the 90s, establishing them as a highly sought-after duo. During a song launch event, a prominent actor, whom Salman Khan considers a father figure, humorously referred to Salman as Madhuri Dixit’s son.
Their films together were always eagerly anticipated. One notable film, ‘Dil Tera Aashiq,’ was released 32 years ago on October 22, 1993. The movie was directed by Lawrence D’Souza and featured a stellar cast including Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Anupam Kher, Shakti Kapoor, and Kader Khan.
During the launch of the title track of ‘Dil Tera Aashiq,’ an amusing incident unfolded, causing laughter among the attendees. The event included the film’s star cast, as well as singer Alka Yagnik and veteran actor Dharmendra. While the title song was being launched, Dharmendra was interacting with the audience and answering their questions.
Dharmendra praised Madhuri Dixit, calling her ‘our world-class Madhuri Dixit.’ However, when he attempted to compliment Salman, he mistakenly referred to him as ‘their son, Suleiman.’ This remark triggered laughter from the audience. Realizing his error, Dharmendra immediately corrected himself and apologized to Salman.
Salman Khan, however, quickly stopped Dharmendra from apologizing and embraced him. The songs from ‘Dil Tera Aashiq’ were well-received by the audience. The lyrics were written by Sameer, and the film, produced by Rakesh Nath, performed well commercially. The title song, ‘Dil Tera Aashiq,’ featured the voices of Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu.
