Shraddha Kapoor is set to star in a major new film, moving beyond ‘Stree 2’ and other potential projects. She has teamed up with the successful team behind the hit film starring Vicky Kaushal earlier this year. The movie is titled ‘Vittha’ and will be directed by Laxman Utekar, with Dinesh Vijan producing. Kapoor will portray a Lavani artist named Vithabai Narayangaonkar, known as the ‘Tamasha Queen,’ a prominent figure in Maharashtra’s folk theater tradition. The film will explore her powerful performances and impact on Marathi culture. The filmmakers have secured life rights from her family, who reside in Pune, and are preparing to begin production soon. Casting for other roles is underway, including the search for a male lead to star opposite Kapoor. The film will also delve into the growing engagement between Bollywood and regional art forms, similar to the success of ‘Chhava’ which was also filmed in Pune.
