Aamir Khan is set to star in ‘Sitaare Zameen Par,’ marking his comeback after 2022’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha.’ The film has generated significant buzz, with Khan actively promoting it. The movie is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 20, 2025. Genelia D’souza also stars in the film, alongside Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishnan Varma, Vedant Sharmaa, Naman Misra, Rishi Shahani, Ashish Pendse, Samvit Desai, Simran Mangeshkar, Aayush Bhansali, Dolly Ahluwalia, Gurpal Singh, Brijendra Kala, Zeenat Hussain and Nikhat Khan, in supporting roles.
The plot is an adaptation of the 2018 Spanish film ‘Champions,’ revolving around a suspended basketball coach tasked with community service. He is assigned to coach a team of players with disabilities, helping them prepare for a basketball tournament.
Tickets will be available on BookMyShow and other online platforms. Khan is reportedly opting for a ‘pay-per-view’ release method instead of an OTT release. This approach would require viewers to pay specifically for the film, similar to the theatrical model, potentially offering greater benefits to the producers.
According to reports, Aamir Khan rejected a Rs 120 crore offer by Amazon Prime Video to release the movie on OTT.
