Celebrating SP Balasubramanyam’s Death Anniversary with His Top Accolades

On September 25, the film fraternity commemorated the death anniversary of SP Balasubramanyam by recalling his remarkable list of honors. Over a career spanning more than five decades, he recorded over 40,000 songs in 16 languages and won six National Film Awards. The state of Andhra Pradesh awarded him 25 Nandi Awards across various categories, while Tamil Nadu’s Kalaimamani and Karnataka’s State Festival Award added to his trophy cabinet. His national recognitions—Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and the posthumous Padma Vibhushan—remain a testament to his unparalleled contribution.
