Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra are currently working on their upcoming film, SSMB29, directed by S.S. Rajamouli. The title and subject of the film will be revealed in November 2025. Interestingly, the director has also established a Hollywood connection. Rumors suggest that the project has linked with James Cameron, the director of Titanic.
According to social media speculation, James Cameron might announce the title of SSMB29 while promoting Avatar 3: Fire and Ash in India. However, no official confirmation has been released by the makers yet. SSMB29 is described as a global jungle adventure film, with Mahesh Babu playing a courageous explorer, inspired by Indiana Jones and African folklore.
The film’s budget is estimated to be between 900-1000 crore rupees. Initially, there were speculations that the film would be released as a two-part series after the shooting was completed by 2026. However, the makers have reportedly reconsidered their decision and now plan to release it as a single film, which is expected to hit the big screen by 2027.
On the occasion of Mahesh Babu’s 50th birthday celebration, the makers of SSMB29 announced that the official announcement would be made in November this year. The team promised a never-before-seen reveal. Sharing an update, the team hinted that the film’s title is “Globetrotter.” Reportedly, the team is scheduled to start shooting in South Africa from the second week of September 2025. Recently, they shot some scenes with Priyanka Chopra Jonas in an indoor studio in Hyderabad.
