India is mourning the tragic loss of Wing Commander Namansh Syal, a brave pilot who perished when his Tejas aircraft crashed during a demonstration at the Dubai Air Show 2025. The incident has sent shockwaves across the nation, with many prominent figures expressing their profound grief.
Renowned actor and politician Kamal Haasan took to social media to share his sorrow. He described Wing Commander Syal as “India’s brave son” and offered his deepest condolences to the pilot’s family and loved ones. Haasan emphasized the sacrifice made while showcasing the capabilities of the Indian Air Force’s Tejas fighter jet.
Actor Sonu Sood also paid tribute to the fallen hero. He stated that India mourns the loss of a pilot who gave his life doing what he loved most – flying for his nation. Sood highlighted the pilot’s courage and sacrifice, calling him a true hero.
Actor Suniel Shetty, speaking at an event, acknowledged the gravity of the incident and expressed gratitude towards all officers serving the country, stating his pride in their service. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
Other notable personalities, including singer Adnan Sami and several sports stars like Yuvraj Singh, PV Sindhu, Ishant Sharma, and Yuzvendra Chahal, have also extended their heartfelt sympathies to Wing Commander Syal’s family and the Indian Air Force. The pilot’s mortal remains were brought back to India on a special aircraft, with Emirati Defence Forces providing a ceremonial guard of honour.
