The final installment of the popular horror franchise ‘The Conjuring,’ titled ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites,’ is experiencing strong performance at the Indian box office. The film’s success surpasses its domestic releases and has already established several records within its first week. Directed by Michael Chaves and starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson, the film maintained its momentum on Tuesday, earning approximately ₹5.68 crore, reflecting a 13.6% increase from Monday’s ₹5 crore collection. This positive trend follows a robust opening weekend, where the film surpassed the ₹50.5 crore net mark in just three days. The current total net collection has reached ₹61.18 crore, with a gross of ₹60.40 crore. This is believed to be the biggest opening for a Hollywood horror film in India. ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ is nearing the ₹61.80 crore record set by ‘The Conjuring 2’ in India. Given its current trajectory, the film is poised to surpass both previous films, including ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines,’ which earned ₹62.12 crore. The film’s total gross collection by day five has reached ₹67.5 crore. The English version of the film has earned ₹33.34 crore, while the Hindi dub contributed ₹24.38 crore. The Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions earned ₹2.51 crore and ₹95 lakh respectively, bringing the total collection from regional languages to ₹3.46 crore. ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ is outperforming domestic films, leading the box office. Internationally, ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ has recorded the biggest opening for a horror film to date. The film earned $194 million worldwide in its first weekend, surpassing the 2017 film ‘It,’ which earned $190 million. Out of this, $110 million came from the overseas market, setting a new international record for the horror genre. Including films like ‘The Nun’ and ‘Annabelle,’ ‘The Conjuring’ franchise is now the most successful horror series in history with a total gross of over $2.3 billion.
