Ajay Bahl’s romantic thriller, ‘The Lady Killer,’ featuring Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar, has been released on T-Series’ official YouTube channel. This digital release follows a disappointing theatrical run last year. The film premiered on the platform with minimal publicity. It was made available on Tuesday morning after a countdown on YouTube, mirroring the lack of promotions seen during its cinema release. Reports suggest the film struggled to secure an OTT platform, despite its cast. The film’s opening day box office collection was a mere Rs 38,000, with only 293 tickets sold nationwide, marking it as one of the lowest-grossing films in Indian cinema history. The movie was reportedly incomplete due to budget issues, heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand, and the absence of reshoots. The production team relied on editing and voiceovers to complete the film. Originally intended for Netflix, the streaming plan was canceled, leading to its free availability on T-Series’ YouTube channel. Director Ajay Bahl admitted the film was incomplete, noting that 30 pages of the 117-page screenplay were never filmed. Crucial scenes, including the entire romance between Arjun and Bhumi, Bhumi’s alcohol dependence, and Arjun’s sense of despair, were omitted. Bahl clarified that the issues did not stem from the actors, who he praised for their dedication, stating that they poured their hearts into the project.
