Vicky Kaushal’s highly anticipated film, ‘Mahavtar’, has reportedly faced a setback. The film, which was planned for release in 2026, has been postponed. The delay is speculated to be linked to Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film, ‘Love and War’, slated for an early 2026 release. According to reports, the makers of ‘Mahavtar’ have decided to push back the release. Initially, the film was expected to hit theaters around Christmas 2026. However, the postponement has opened up the release date for other potential films. The shooting of ‘Mahavtar’ was expected to commence by the end of this year, but now it is likely to begin in April of the following year. This shift makes it difficult to release the film in December, leading to a proposed shift to 2027. The delay may also be influenced by the completion timeline of ‘Love and War’, which also stars Vicky Kaushal. Furthermore, the film requires extensive physical training for Vicky, who is set to portray Lord Parshuram, necessitating a muscular physique. This will be followed by six months of shooting and post-production, which includes CGI and visual effects.
