Zaheer Iqbal's Obsessive Role in Tu Hai Meri Kiran

Zaheer Iqbal is currently seen as Samar, an obsessive lover, in the psychological thriller Tu Hai Meri Kiran. Describing his approach, the actor said the role was not simply about conveying intensity on screen. It also required him to examine the thought process behind the character, the emotions he carries, and the reasons behind his actions.

Zaheer Iqbal believes actors should always aim to offer audiences something unexpected. For him, playing an obsessive lover was an exciting challenge because the character is filled with conflicting emotions that had to be handled with care.

“My aim was to play Samar with total dedication,” he said. “I wanted to make sure that even the most difficult feelings look real on screen. It was never only about intensity. It was about understanding who this man is and why he behaves the way he does.”

He also shared that the love and praise the character has received after the film's release has been very encouraging. Audiences responding to work that demanded hard effort, especially a role that takes an actor out of his comfort zone, is a deeply rewarding experience, he added.

Karan Rawal has written and directed the film. Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal headline the cast, with Ankit Gupta, Sharlin Seth, Zarina Wahab and Purnendu Bhattacharya in supporting roles.

In the story, Samar loves Kiran, played by Sonakshi Sinha, one-sidedly and with great intensity. Gradually, this affection grows into a risky obsession and fear, leading him to pressure Kiran and try to control her. His character and style are being compared with Shah Rukh Khan's obsessive role in Darr.

The film was released in cinemas on October 23.
