
The Plant Genome Conservation Award will be given to the farmers and farmers groups of the country under the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers Rights for the conservation of traditional and indigenous species. For this, application has been invited from the farmers till 12 February 2021. It may be noted that this award is given annually by the Authority, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Government of India.
This is a golden opportunity for those farmers and farmers groups of Chhattisgarh of the Plant Genome Conservation Award for the years 2018-19 and 2019-20. Farmers who are doing development work by conserving and selecting any traditional indigenous species, farmers can get the Plant Genome Conservation Award by registering under the Plant Varieties and Farmers Rights Protection Authority. Under the Plant Genome Patronage Community Award, five farming groups are given awards in a year.
Also, a cash amount of Rs 10 lakh is given to each group. Under the Plant Genome Patron Farmer Redemption Award, 10 farmers are awarded every year and a cash amount of Rs 1.5 lakh is given to each farmer. Under the Plant Genome Patron Krishak Samman, 20 farmers are awarded every year and each farmer is given a cash amount of Rs 1 lakh.
