Funding Details for Upgrading Ayush Pharmacies and Sub‑Health Centres

The National Ayush Mission allocates specific funds to each upgraded facility. Under the scheme, an Ayush pharmacy that is upgraded to an Ayush Health and Wellness Centre receives INR 16.22 lakh, while a sub‑health centre (sub‑centre) is allotted INR 15.744 lakh. These funds are released centrally after states submit proposals through their State Annual Action Plans (SAAP).

The financial assistance is intended to cover infrastructure enhancement, procurement of diagnostic tools, training of Ayush doctors, and the establishment of yoga and naturopathy units. Continuous monitoring is conducted through central team visits, NABH assessments, and third‑party audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Minister Jadhav emphasized that the funding mechanism also supports capacity building and referral linkages with other public health institutions, thereby strengthening the overall health infrastructure and improving outcomes for the rural and underserved populations.
