Tripura Sets Up Dedicated Ambulance Corridors to Cut Response Time

In a move to improve emergency care, Tripura's Chief Minister Manik Saha announced the creation of dedicated ambulance corridors across the state. These green routes will allow emergency vehicles to avoid regular traffic and reach patients more quickly.

The declaration was made while the CM opened new intensive care units and a central sterile supplies department at Agartala's Government Medical College and the GB Pant Hospital's super‑speciality block. He mentioned that several strategy sessions with traffic officials have been completed to finalize the corridor alignments.

As the minister in charge of Health and Family Welfare, Saha said that every major referral hospital is being equipped with cutting‑edge medical technology. The long‑term plan is to make Tripura self‑sufficient for advanced treatments, reducing the need for patients to travel outside the state.

The super‑speciality block offers nine ICU beds each for male and female patients. Ongoing digitalisation projects are bringing electronic health services to more hospitals, backed by a 13.5 crore rupee investment to guarantee rapid and reliable medical care for the population.
