Operation Amistad Boosts Venezuelan Medical Response After 7.2-7.5 Quakes

On June 24, back‑to‑back tremors measuring 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude devastated large swaths of Venezuela, leaving more than 2,200 dead and thousands injured. In response, the Indian government launched Operation Amistad, dispatching two C‑17 aircraft loaded with relief supplies, a field hospital team, and a "Bheem Cube" of advanced life‑support equipment. The 41‑member Indian contingent, which includes nine doctors, is prepared to deliver emergency treatment, perform life‑saving surgeries and provide ongoing health services to the disaster zones.
