Supreme Court Sends Back Banerjee's Eye Treatment Case to Kolkata High Court

A three‑judge bench of the Supreme Court, comprising Justices Suryakant, Joymalya Bagchi and Venkata Subramani Mohan, returned Abhishek Banerjee’s petition for overseas eye treatment to the Kolkata High Court. The apex court instructed the lower bench to pronounce a decision within a week. The petition had earlier been rejected by the High Court, which had asked Banerjee to first seek consultations with ophthalmologists at SSKM Medical College. The Supreme Court’s order ensures the matter remains under the jurisdiction of the Kolkata bench.
