Vice President highlights Sanskrit revival at Shastri University before Deoghar visit
Before heading to Deoghar, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan addressed graduates at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, marking the institute’s transition to a central university. He praised the university for securing an "A++" grade from NAAC and for preserving traditional curricula such as Prakrit, Vastu Shastra and the 44‑year‑old Vidyapeeth Panchang.
Radhakrishnan emphasized Sanskrit as the "golden thread" that weaves together India’s myriad languages, urging scholars to rescue unpublished manuscripts, edit them critically and publish them for future generations. He linked the revival of Sanskrit to national policies, citing the National Education Policy 2020 and the "Ashtadhyayi" initiative as supportive frameworks.
The Vice President’s speech reinforced his belief that India’s development must stay rooted in cultural heritage, and he lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for fostering an environment conducive to the renaissance of ancient knowledge systems.
