200 km Pursuit Ends with Six Arrests in Delhi Jewellery Heist

A high-speed, multi-district chase covering roughly 200 kilometres has led to the arrest of six people allegedly involved in a major residential burglary in south Delhi. The Lodhi Colony police received a complaint that unknown thieves had broken into a government flat while the family was away and made off with gold, silver and diamond jewellery. Reviewing CCTV footage, officers spotted a suspiciously parked Maruti Celerio fitted with a fake registration plate. The vehicle was followed in real time through Barapullah, the Ring Road, Sarai Kale Khan, the Meerut Expressway, Ghaziabad and finally into Noida. After hours of relentless tracking, the suspects were cornered in Geeta Colony on 20 May. Inside the car police found house-breaking implements and 34 master keys. Interrogation revealed that two women and a jeweller helped dispose of the stolen goods. All six accused are now in custody. Preliminary findings indicate the gang may have been active in over seventy theft cases spread across three states; investigations continue.
