In Gurugram, an eight-year-old girl was reportedly abducted and sexually assaulted by a delivery worker on Wednesday. The police reported the incident, stating that the minor was taken while en route to attend a Kanjak ritual, a Hindu religious observance. The abduction occurred approximately five kilometers from the child’s home. After a search lasting 20 hours, the girl was found unconscious. Law enforcement assembled five teams to apprehend the suspect. A complaint was lodged at the police station at 8:30 PM on Wednesday by the girl’s father, who reported her missing since 11 AM that morning. Following the report, police initiated an investigation, including interviews with local residents. Witnesses reported seeing the girl with a young man on a green scooter. After extensive searching, including a review of CCTV footage, the girl was discovered at the crime scene in Sector 95, approximately five kilometers from her home, at about 9 AM on Thursday. The child was in critical condition and promptly taken to the hospital. Medical examinations confirmed the rape and assault, leading to charges under Section 6 of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act and other relevant sections. The suspect, a 21-year-old delivery boy working for a private company, was identified and traced through CCTV footage. Police interrogation revealed that the suspect lured the girl with food, then abducted and assaulted her. Further investigation showed that earlier that day, the suspect had also approached two other children, but released them before attacking the eight-year-old.
