Senior AAP leader and Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj has strongly criticized the BJP-led Delhi government, alleging it is failing to deliver on its promises. Bharadwaj accused the BJP of inflicting suffering on Delhi residents through measures like a 10.5% Power Purchase Adjustment Charges (PPAC) hike, failure to eliminate pension charges in electricity bills, and prolonged power outages, sometimes lasting up to 14 hours. Bharadwaj stated that within just four months of assuming power, the BJP has allegedly implemented policies that negatively impact various segments of society, including fee increases in private schools, demolitions of jhuggi settlements, and increased electricity bills. He cited a video from July 2024 where BJP leaders had vehemently opposed an 8% PPAC increase, calling it evidence of corruption. Bharadwaj questioned the BJP’s current stance, pointing out the 10.5% hike under their governance and challenged them to reconcile their previous criticism with their current actions. He also demanded the removal of pension charges, citing Virendra Sachdeva’s previous statements that these charges were unjustified. Bharadwaj highlighted the severity of the situation, mentioning widespread power cuts, including a 14-hour blackout in Chhatarpur, and the need for residents in areas like Greater Kailash to install inverters. He concluded by accusing the BJP of making electricity unaffordable, allowing prolonged power cuts, and continuing to collect unjust pension charges, demanding answers from the ruling party.
