AIMIM Spokesperson Waris Pathan Blames Parties for 1992 Babri Tragedy

New Delhi – Waris Pathan, national spokesperson for the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), labeled December 6, 1992, as a "dark day" for Indian democracy, asserting that the demolition of the Babri Masjid was orchestrated through a conspiracy. Pathan placed responsibility on the BJP, RSS, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and even the Congress, arguing that all these groups share culpability for the tragedy.

Commenting on recent remarks by Akhilesh Yadav about his planned Ayodhya visit and election rhetoric, Pathan warned that equating Diwali with Eid was a mere political stunt aimed at courting a specific voter base. He stressed that genuine communal harmony, where both festivals are celebrated together, should not be reduced to campaign slogans.

Pathan’s remarks underline the lingering bitterness surrounding the Babri incident and the way it continues to shape electoral discourse, religious politics and inter‑community dialogue in India.
