An Air India flight, AI-171, en route to London, crashed during takeoff at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. The flight, carrying 242 people, including passengers and crew, was a Boeing 787 twin jet. According to sources, the aircraft departed from Ahmedabad at 1339 IST and issued a MAYDAY call before communication ceased. The aircraft crashed outside the airport perimeter, resulting in a significant fire. Emergency services, including the NDRF, have been dispatched to the scene. Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have responded to the incident, with rescue and relief operations underway.
