A tragic landslide on the Amarnath Yatra route claimed the life of a pilgrim and injured three others. The incident, occurring in the Rail Pathri area of Ganderbal district, led to the suspension of the Yatra from all base camps due to severe weather conditions. A 55-year-old woman from Rajasthan, identified as Sona Bai, lost her life in the incident. The injured pilgrims received immediate medical attention and are reported to be in stable condition. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) worked to clear debris, but the Yatra was suspended on July 17 to ensure the safety of the pilgrims. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for heavy rainfall in the region. Pilgrims are advised to stay informed through official channels.
