Following former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar’s resignation, public silence has fueled speculation, particularly from the Congress and other opposition parties. Central Home Minister Amit Shah has responded to inquiries regarding Dhankhar’s departure, emphasizing that Dhankhar, during his tenure, upheld constitutional principles and performed his duties admirably. Shah stated that Dhankhar resigned due to personal health issues and urged against attempting to read more into the situation. This statement was made during an interview with news agency ANI, shortly before the upcoming September 9th Vice Presidential elections. CP Radhakrishnan, the Governor of Maharashtra, is the NDA’s candidate for the election, while the opposition has nominated former Supreme Court Justice B. Sudarshan Reddy. Dhankhar resigned last month, citing health reasons, which led to discussions about the reasons behind his decision.
