Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah is set to inaugurate the Tribhuvan Sahkari University (TSU) in Anand, Gujarat. The event on July 5th will include the ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ and the laying of the foundation stone for this pioneering national-level cooperative university. Shah will also participate in a tree planting initiative, aligning with the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. Furthermore, he will unveil an educational module prepared by NCERT to educate school students about cooperative principles and the impact of the cooperative movement in India. The TSU aims to train professionals in cooperative management, finance, and rural development, fostering innovation and sustainable economic growth. The university will offer a range of programs based on the National Education Policy 2020 and establish a nationwide network to standardize cooperative education. It plans to train a significant number of cooperative personnel in the coming years and address the shortage of qualified teachers through PhD programs. A dedicated research and development council will be established to promote innovation in the cooperative sector. Shah’s visit also includes a ‘Sahkar Samvad’ event in Ahmedabad and a special program in Anand to mark the Ministry of Cooperation’s four-year anniversary, highlighting the ministry’s achievements and future plans.
