India celebrated the 156th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi alongside Dussehra. Numerous events were held across the country to mark the occasion. Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah paid their respects to Gandhi. Central Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Khadi Festival 2025 in Delhi and also made purchases.
Shah stated his reverence for Mahatma Gandhi, who recognized the soul of India. He highlighted Gandhi’s two key concepts: Khadi and Swadeshi, which were integral to the freedom struggle. He noted that in the past, English textiles were imported. He mentioned that when Narendra Modi became the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2003, he revived Khadi.
