Authorities Invoke POCSO, IT and Juvenile Justice Acts over Child Abuse Video

The Jamui police have formally invoked three key statutes – the POCSO Act, the Information Technology Act, and the Juvenile Justice Act – to address the recent incident involving the harassment of a minor girl in the Madwa Hill region. The victim’s family filed a complaint after the video of the assault surfaced on social platforms.

Senior police officials explained that any person who discloses a child’s identity, shares graphic footage, or assists in its distribution is liable for stringent penalties under these laws. The cases have been registered at the Jamui Sadar police station, and a special investigation team (SIT) has been tasked with tracing the origin of the video, identifying all participants, and ensuring that the offending content is removed from the internet.

Legal experts note that the combined application of these statutes provides a robust framework to deter future violations and protect vulnerable children from digital exploitation.
