Bihar leaders demand swift justice as video of minor abuse spreads online

A video showing the alleged molestation of an under‑age girl in Jamui has gone viral, prompting swift reactions from Bihar’s top leaders. Deputy Chief Minister Vikas Kumar Chaudhary told reporters that the state machinery has already identified the culprits and that legal proceedings will be filed under the POCSO legislation. He highlighted that the media’s role in exposing the incident helped law enforcement act quickly.

Chaudhary warned that anyone involved in creating, sharing or supporting the video will face the full force of the law and that no leniency will be shown. He also appealed to citizens to refrain from circulating any material that could compromise the victim’s privacy.

Minister Shreyasi Singh, who represents Jamui in the assembly, announced that a Special Investigation Team was activated immediately after the case surfaced. She said three individuals had already been arrested and that the recent capture of the two remaining suspects marks a significant breakthrough. Singh promised that the dignity of girls will be protected and that every offender will be prosecuted rigorously.
