31 Modern Bus Terminals and Greenfield Townships to Transform Bihar’s Urban Landscape

In an effort to upgrade public transportation, the Bihar cabinet gave theoretical clearance to modernize 31 bus stands across the state under a public‑private partnership (PPP) model. The revamped terminals, slated for districts including Purnia, Katihar, Araria, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Madhubani and Supaul, will feature waiting halls, parking bays, clean restrooms, ticket counters and other passenger amenities.

Parallel to the bus‑terminal drive, the cabinet approved technical assistance for greenfield satellite township projects. New townships are planned around Patna, Muzaffarpur and several other growing cities, with land acquisition proposals already cleared. These townships aim to provide contemporary residential and commercial infrastructure, catering to the rapidly expanding urban population.

The dual focus on transit hubs and planned townships is expected to ease commuter congestion, create construction‑related jobs and lay a solid foundation for sustainable urban growth in Bihar.
