A joint operation by the police and the Excise Department in Gopalganj district, Bihar, has led to a significant seizure of illegal liquor. Acting on a tip-off, authorities recovered 900 cartons of foreign liquor from a truck. The seizure took place at the Balthari check post in the Kucha Kot police station area. The recovered liquor is estimated to be worth approximately one crore rupees. A trafficker, Dawood Nabi, a resident of Murshidabad, was arrested during the operation. The liquor was reportedly being transported from Uttar Pradesh to Muzaffarpur, Bihar. Initially, the driver claimed the truck was loaded with cotton, but the appearance of the vehicle raised suspicion, leading to the search that uncovered the liquor hidden among cotton bales.
