Aadhaar Mobile Number Update: Simple Process Explained

The UIDAI has simplified the procedure for mobile number replacement. No paperwork, no queues – just a few taps on your smartphone.

Start by launching the Aadhaar app. If you are a first‑time user, register using your Aadhaar number and set a password.

Once logged in, head to “My Aadhaar” and choose “Edit Details”. Pick the “Mobile Number” option.

Enter the fresh 10‑digit number and repeat it for accuracy. Press “Proceed”.

An OTP arrives on the newly entered number; type it back in to confirm.

The app will acknowledge the request and issue an Update Reference Number. This reference can be used to track the status on the UIDAI portal.

After verification, the new mobile number becomes the primary contact for all Aadhaar‑related communications.
