Police in Patna, Bihar, shot a man in the leg after he attempted to escape custody. The individual, identified as Anshu Kumar, was arrested from Lucknow on August 10th in connection with the murder of Ramakant Yadav (50), who was involved in the sand mining business, in the Ranitalab area. According to a police statement, Kumar was being taken to a location where he had hidden the weapon used in the crime when he tried to flee. Police fired, hitting him in the leg. Kumar was admitted to a government hospital and is reported to be out of danger. The weapon used in Ramakant Yadav’s murder has been recovered. Kumar is also wanted in several other criminal cases. Police have arrested two individuals and detained a minor in connection with the murder.
