Arrests made in raid on Amit Ranu’s house and office, weapons recovered

The law-enforcement sweep on Amit Ranu’s residential premises in Bariya and his office compound in Belasand resulted in the discovery of firearms and ammunition. Alongside the weapon cache, officers detained two individuals—Naveen Kumar (also known as Nanhe) and Chotu Yadav—who were present at the scene. Investigators have also listed Ranu’s brother, Sonu Singh, as a person of interest. The police are scrutinising the legislator’s possible connections to the illegal construction activities that prompted the raid. The incident has intensified debates within the legislative assembly, with opposition parties calling for an independent inquiry into the procedural aspects of the operation.
