In the Banka district of Bihar, a domestic dispute escalated to the point where a husband, with the assistance of his second wife, murdered his first wife. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene with a team. With the help of villagers, the body was recovered and sent for a post-mortem examination. The deceased has been identified as Savitri Devi, aged 34.
The incident occurred in Amjora village, under the jurisdiction of Anandpur police station. The dispute on Wednesday led the husband and his second wife to kill his first wife. After the murder, they buried the body in the sand near a river and fled. The incident caused a sensation in the area. The police have taken the second wife, Pooja Devi, into custody, while the husband remains at large.
Savitri Devi’s family has alleged that her life became hell after the second wife moved in. They claimed there were daily conflicts. Her husband distanced himself from her and physically abused her. It is alleged that after a minor argument on Wednesday, they both murdered Savitri and buried her body in the sand near the river.
The deceased was struggling with financial difficulties and worked as a laborer. She had a 14-year-old son named Brahmadev Das. When her family received the news, they rushed to the scene. A scene of wailing and crying erupted at the spot. Savitri’s family members stated that after Pooja Devi’s arrival, the husband no longer cared for Savitri and subjected her to constant harassment.
Upon hearing news of the murder, a crowd of villagers gathered at the scene. Savitri’s family has demanded strict action against the husband and his second wife. They stated that it was not just a case of murder, but also a case of long-term harassment of a woman. The police have registered a complaint based on the family’s statement and are investigating the matter. The search for the absconding accused is ongoing.
