Plan your banking before the July holidays: detailed closure calendar

If you have pending bank work, the next week’s holiday schedule is crucial. The RBI has identified four specific dates when branches will be closed due to local celebrations, plus the regular Sunday shutdown.

**Closure overview** - **July 16 (Thursday)** – Harela in Dehradun (Uttarakhand) and Imphal (Manipur); Ratha Yatra in Bhubaneswar (Odisha). - **July 17 (Friday)** – Death anniversary of U Tirot Sing observed in Shillong (Meghalaya). - **July 18 (Saturday)** – Drukpa Tshe‑zi in Gangtok (Sikkim). - **July 19 (Sunday)** – Nationwide weekend holiday.

During July 13‑15, most branches, including those of SBI, ICICI, HDFC and other major lenders, will operate as usual. Customers residing in cities where later closures are planned should try to settle cash deposits, loan paperwork or cheque clearances during these three working days.

**Digital channels stay live** Even when the counters are locked, every digital platform stays active. UPI, mobile banking apps, internet banking portals, NEFT, RTGS and ATM networks will continue to process transactions.

**Beyond July** The RBI’s calendar also outlines holidays for August, September, October and November, covering festivals such as Independence Day, Raksha Bandhan, Janmashtami, Dussehra, Diwali and Guru Nanak Jayanti. Each state may have its own list, so it is wise to verify the status of your local branch before making a trip.

By planning ahead and leveraging online services, you can avoid the inconvenience of closed doors and keep your financial matters on track.
